battling the flu & other stuff

well we have been doing war with the flu in our house. first paul had it over monday and then i got it tuesday. i pray cole doesn't get it. he has had a little diahrya (SP?) and a cough....yipee. the joys of motherhood. paul and my dad are going goose hunting this saturday morning. they are both excited. we are spending christmas with my family (minus mike and shari) on saturday. trey will be with us. then mom and dad and trey will leave for ft. worth that evening to spend christmas with grandmother and papaw. they will also go see my dad's mom and sister. we will be with paul's family for christmas eve, spending the night with his parents, and will be with them christmas day and then that evening we will be at the Mincks christmas open house party. its become a tradition with us every year. i hope to travel up to grandmother's tuesday morning to spend a few days with them before i go back to work.

cole as a turtle

i guess i have been lazy with regards to posting. its hard with a little one around. he loves my computer and wants to 'help' mommy with the typing! anyhoooo...here is a cole as a turtle for halloween. right after the first picture, he fell and busted his lip..... we went home after that. (we went to my sister in laws church's party) especially because we were having to swat the mosquitos away like crazy! i swear, they were as big as a b-52 bomber!

cole with santa

this year we found a more authentic looking santa and took cole to see him. he did fine with ole saint nick. he stared at him for a little while and then turned his head with a little smile and POOF...we got the picutre. i guess i am blessed with having a child who does not scream bloody murder at the site of santa! lets just pray he stays this way.

mysterious toys

when i got home yesterday afternoon i noticed a big box on my front porch. i brought it in but did not have time to open it. i did notice that it was from 'little tikes' toys and it said it was ordered by cole and received by cole. so i had no idea who it was from. when paul got home later that night and cole was in bed, we opened the box. and out poured 3 toys. i couldn't figure out who sent them. so we started calling.... his mom knew nothing about it, my mom knew nothing about it.... so i went off to bed with a big question mark hovering over my head. as i lay there in a coma, i remembered my little bro. saying something about ordering toys. OH, i need to back up and say that one of the toys is a xylophone/piano combo in the body of a caterpillar. paul started to bang on it and stopped after i begged him to. i can already see a fight breaking out between cole and dad to see who will play with the piano/xylo! anyhow, i woke up this morning and called uncle trey to see if he was the culprit. and alas, the mystery is solved!
